Wednesday Morning 10:30 AM

Great news this morning.  Cami was able to take her breathing and feeding tubes out this morning as and was also able to get ride of a lot of the monitoring devices attached to her head.  She is resting right now but she was able to talk a little this morning.  There is still some sedation medicine in her system so she is still very groggy and a little confused, but that is to be expected after a long ordeal.  I'll try to post a few more updates today as Cami begins to feel a little better.

Thanks for all the encouraging messages, I am sure she will enjoy hearing them when she wakes up a little more.

Seth

  13. Seth-

A friend's major heart surgery exactly a year ago, gives credence to a long wake-up time. It took him 4 days, and he hadn't been kept in a coma. A great gift to give Cami is for you to be alert for her later, so force yourself to get rested whenever possible. You guys are a great team!

  16. That's great news! We also had the experience of dealing with sedation/coma related recovery. It can take a significant time before she is really aware. Our case was 8 days before really getting back closer to normal. Also, a "heads up", the groggy confusion may make her hostile, depressed or upset esspecially after she starts making more sense and can speak more easily. Just wanted to give you a warning, so you wouldn't be shocked or think you did something wrong. We continue to pray for her.
